MCC EVENT - The Cavendish - DEC 2010 - Spray Can

Cavendish Update.

The second of MCC's finest to pop-up at the Cavendish was SprayCan, they were commissioned to paint a mural on one of the exterior walls.
They created some fantastic Soul inspired work which attached a lot of attention, many of the Hulme locals and students stopped to watch the live art, including a few snow clouds it seems as it kept on snowing throughout.
Neither wind rain or snow could stop these very talented fellows though, and we are very glad as the end result was superb.

SprayCan also held their first live art night at the Cavendish featuring Hint, 30DZ, Coabie, Teas, and 158 artists. They worked on blank walls within the pub, the artists had an open brief and lots of paint and possa's with which to create a mix of art work adorning all corners of the pub. The night was a huge success consisting of live art, networking, drinks and fine music.

Keep your eyes peeled for more SprayCan live art events popping up near you soon.

SprayCan are part of Idea's Factory, the creative element of MCC and they are available for commissions, workshops and live art demonstrations. You can find out more about who they are, what they do and how to HIRE them here!

MCC EVENT - The Cavendish - DEC 2010 - Marbella

Between November and December 2010 the Manchester Creative Collective held a series of pop-up events in The Caverndish Pub, Hulme which spanned over a month.

Marbella was first to pop-up in the Caverndish, the ideal place of course being the kitchen.
There they offered a tasty 'Winter Warmer Menu' for the run up Christmas. The menu centred on offering homemade staples such as Pies, Soups and Stews to keep the local community warmed up, perfect for battling the crowds of shoppers and the icy weather.
The Marbella menu was available from late November to mid December and included alot of Marbella classics's as well as some tasty new additions, namely Sweet Potato pie which was a massive hit around the MCC Office.

Marbella used this opportunity to try and introduce new flavours and recipes to create a menu that would stand out, this was not going to be just another 'Pub Lunch' style affair.
The response they received was very supportive, the favourites being the vegetarian and vegan options.

More about The Cavendish Pop-Ups to come!
