Christmas Craft Fair ***MCC Team***

We have been very busy, baking, sewing, gluing and crafting our Christmas decorations over here at the MCC Office. We felt it would be very prudent for us to make our own decorations all from recycled paper, objects and fabric. Our workshop leader Alice Eleanor has been kind enough to teach us all a few tricks and techniques so expect some wonderfully creative decorations dotted around our grotto alter space.

Here a few sneaky pictures for you.

Christmas Craft Fair ***FEATURED ARTIST***

FinestImaginary’s fine purveyor of designer goodness has a severe obsession with the like of stories, monsters and make believe. Sometimes these things spill out onto paper, and thus, material things are born.
Whilst not everything has a story hidden right behind it’s chain or clasp, most of the characters you’ll come across in FinestImaginary will have been born through the wandering day dreams of Kim Lawler. An art degree graduate masquerading as a web designer during the day and playing with plastic, fabrics and inks at night, FinestImaginary serves as the delightful material outlet for thoughts that can’t be transcribed in xHTML and CSS. FinestImaginary is a jumble of ideas for you to accessorise your outfit with.
You can find Kim at our fair on the 12th showing off her fantastic wares including, necklaces, badges, rings, t-shirts and  much more!

Christmas Craft Fair ***FEATURED ARTIST***

There is only 1 week left until our Christmas Craft and we are all very busy over at MCC HQ getting things ready, so to start off our count down week we would like to feature a organisation that will be at our event promoting themselves as well as selling some brilliant work.

Venture Arts is unique in the North West. Since 1985 it has been providing a bright, lively and welcoming environment for people with learning difficulties to produce quality artwork.
Twelve-week projects form the basis of the creative work, each centred on a theme. Responding to the theme, participants produce innovative work using a wide range of different mediums, including photography, ceramics, mosaics, 3D, painting and textiles.
Exhibitions at the end of each project allow the creative talent at Venture Arts to be displayed at high-profile venues in the North West. In the past they have exhibited at The Lowry, Manchester Art Gallery, People’s History Museum, St George’s Hall, Lymm Festival, Chorlton Arts Festival and Dadafest.

We are lucky enough to have them with us on the 12th selling Christmas Cards designed by individuals from workshops as well as 2011 calenders, Cups and Sauces, and much more!
You can find out more about Venture Arts and the fantastic projects they have been involved in here!
